There is practically no right time to visit Ethiopia. However, keep in mind that from mid-June to mid-September many areas experience long and heavy rains.

If you want to attend a particular event such as the Kael ceremony in Bodi or the Donga ceremony in Suri or Bulljumping in Hamar email us in advance to suggest you when is the best period to visit.

Some of the most colourful markets in the South Omo Valley take place of fixed days of the week so your trip may be organised in such a way as to include some of them. Please note that in Jinka there is a small daily market but on the days specified below it attracts many people.
